ahh a week and no posts. i fail.
if you've been following 'cephalopods abroad,' you know what we've been doing. today we wandered around a garden and had lunch- it was so sunny and beautiful! we then walked to concorde and hopped the metro to rue de fours where i bought some shoes. tehe.
i made mozzarella and tomato pasta for dinner and we have chocolate raspberry pastries for dessert. what a good day.
here are some pictures lauren and i have taken in the past few days.
lauren took this in the 'labyrinth' by the garden of plants. if you've read cephalopods, this is where the crazy men were chasing the children.

the church of st. séverin

my favourite church thus far. here are some pictures lauren and i took. the church was very beautiful.
the church picture is fuzzy! oh well. the picture obviously doesn't do it justice.
we walked from the 7th to the 5th today. alex and i wanted to see the delacroix museum but it was closed! disappointment. however by a stroke of luck we wandered into a church nearby and realized he'd painted two walls and a ceiling. what luck! one of the images was from a passage that we'd read in bible- jacob wrestling the angel. looovely

this is what i listened to when the planes were taking off
ignore the weird video...

i discovered that i really like churches.  i sat in three different ones today and i just love the way i feel when i'm sitting at the end of the million rows. i'm not sure what i think about prayer at this point, but i mentioned a couple of people in my head and it made me feel less helpless.

last night i had the strangest dream. I was on cape cod, floating above the graffitied houses behind cape rep and a girl was attacked. she didn't seem all that intelligent, it was dark outside and she wandered in wearing a very insubstantial outfit. this kid that i've seen once in my life was there and there was a frightening interaction. afterwards she walked outside and he saved her from snipers by taking her sunglasses off.
hmmm.

lauren made oatmeal for breakfast. i knew how much water to boil because of a recent encounter with oatmeal at the thomas's...we made less this time though. even though we were making it for four people.
we put dried cranberries in the oatmeal...they were actually delicious.

i also thought of laura yesterday when i saw a kid on a leash.
